Third Ward Park is a public park on the East Side of Passaic, laid out in the early twentieth century around a pond, with walking paths, benches and mature trees. The neighborhood history published by the Third Ward Park Association records the city securing more than fifteen acres along Passaic Avenue by 1905 for the park that gave the district its character. It is also known locally as Veterans Memorial Park. It is a local park in a residential district, and the streets around it carry the older housing that gives the East Side its look.
