Backyard Cinemas was founded in Bloomfield and began running outdoor film screenings across the area in May 2020. It works from screens in several sizes with sound, lighting and a concession setup, and it takes both public events and private bookings, indoors and out. Screenings are events, so the schedule and the booking come from the company and there is no street address to turn up at. A private booking sets its own date and its own ground, which is how the same company runs a park screening one night and a backyard one the next.
What our technicians can tell you
An events business lives out of storage, and a storage corner is where a slow leak works unseen for a season. Screens, cabling and soft goods stacked in a garage or a basement are exactly the porous material the EPA gives 24 to 48 hours to dry before mold growth begins, and nobody opens the boxes until the next booking. A household's stored things behave no differently. When a stored area has been wet, the material is assessed and the moisture is mapped before anything is packed back, because dry to the hand and dry to a meter are two different states. In Bloomfield the same team handles the drying and the contents.
